live from Tel Aviv

stumbled upon this designer today and am totally smitten.  yes, more lighting (maybe because i am getting ready to change some fixtures around here which means i am a tad obsessed with finding the right, with finding the perfect lighting)....  from New Orleans to Tel Aviv, this time by an Etsy artist.

the gold balls have tiny holes in them, making for a really beautiful illumination.  and since it is an etsy artist, you can totally work with him to custom this piece.  i see it used in a room with lacquered walls in a moody color (think: inky blue, aubergine or an essex green).

and this artist/designer/shop has quite a few pretty things.  one more that caught my attention:

gold leaf sconce

not for everyone, not for every home, but surely can be appreciated for the work of art it is.  i think it would be really fun as outdoor lighting and would definitely make a statement(!)

shining bright

flambeau lighting.

new orleans based designers and arisans create these unique lights.

artsy, whimsical, ecclectic and a bit eccentric.  and seriously styling.  lots of details and so very well done.  i love these and go straight to flambeau whenever i need a spot of glamour or a standout piece.

i've been looking at lamps and lighting this week for a few people, and so far these are the most beautiful i've come across.  unique and ethereal.

luxury is a bespoke chandelier

a few website obsessions ago (current is Pinterest) i made a board on polyvore and used a really beautiful chandelier.  today after some random clicking, i came across it.  i love it just as much now as i did then.

Bespoke Chanel Silk Scarf Chandelier
what I didn't know then, but do now are the details of this pretty pretty chandelier or its whooping price tag of $9,200 (true it is listed but i never really paid attention to that part of the site, the real draw was designing the sets).

"Gracefully draped with genuine pearls and gold-plated vintage beads and chain, this gold-plated three-armed chandelier glows with a modern, regal opulence. Its distinctive shade, made from an authentic vintage Chanel silk scarf, is truly one-of-a-kind. Hanging chain attaches to a gold-plated ceiling plate."   Vivre description - be sure to check them out - beautifully curated site!

and here is my design on polyvore using this chandelier:

all lit up

its getting darker out earlier and it could be depressing....unless.... you were flipping these lights on, in which case, you need not the sun to go down to enjoy how gorgeous they are.

light light can go on the ceiling or act as a sconce, either way, absolutely beautiful

spotlight on side tables.

came across this side table the other day and was pleasantly surprised with the look - weathered wood, simple design - overall it has a good effect and had me looking for more side tables that have a 'wow" factor:

and they weren't hard to find...  i love the lines of this table so very very much.  dearest santa.....

or Jamie Young's nesting tables - gorgeous!

and since it seems we are heading in the direction of all out glamour, how about a Tony Duquette Collection table light by Baker.

let your light shine down

i've already shared this on facebook, but i just can't help but post here too.  it is so pretty, and although i wouldn't consider myself a DIY type of girl, i might DIY (aka: find someone who will make this for me)...

installation of 'decanterlights' at Coquine bar in London by Lee Broom
i think of all the lighting i look at, and how there are so many beautiful chandeliers, but this makes my heart skip a beat.  my ma-ma had a table full of decanters - so many similar to these...  i'll have to round up all the relatives and find out just who has them so that i (aka someone else) can recreate this for my dining room.
love LOVE love the light these throw.
