shining bright

flambeau lighting.

new orleans based designers and arisans create these unique lights.

artsy, whimsical, ecclectic and a bit eccentric.  and seriously styling.  lots of details and so very well done.  i love these and go straight to flambeau whenever i need a spot of glamour or a standout piece.

a little bit all over the place

garden stools are classic and a great addition to any spot.  i can remember the ones my Ma-Ma used in her living room (25 years ago), and loved them.  they are everywhere and this new take, sold at Plantation Home is a great addition to the line up:

its obvious why i love it (has a very Missoni feeling to it, and it's chevron.  no brainer).  another item i have been falling harder for everyday is this beautiful lamp by Currey & Co.   The Metamorphosis Table Light in Antique brass looks ready for a black tie evening.  Change the shade is it becomes a little less formal:

also wanted to share this vanity i saw on Waterworks.  it'd be perfect in a powder room with some beautiful wallpaper and pretty fixtures.

the harewood single vanity.  soo good looking and can easily fit into any style.  kinda like the metamorphosis lamp and the ribbon stool.  3 different styles, all stylish.

artistry ikat ceramic table lamp
or quite possible any of these (the 1st one is BEADED, so fun!)

bohemian jar beaded tamp lamp

colorful quatrefoil table lamp

colorfil filigree table lamp
all are available in other colorways and can be found at www.shadesoflight.com

p.s. don't forget, you can also change your lamp shade for a whole new look too or simply add some ribbon, paint or fringe to the bottom (and/or) top edge

Pretty Bright Things

lighting can be hard to get right, but with any of the below, i don't think you can go wrong...
i'd be in heaven if this little gem adorned my walls

Lens Sconce by Alison Berger for Holly Hunt

OR
if this Ironworks International Jolie chandelier hung above my dining room table:
this seriously gorgeous lamp from Anthropologie would dress up my side table (or anything it sat on)
change the finish in the 1st picture (or maybe not) and we have an instant lighting scheme for a most fabulous room.  in a perfect world, they'd all be on dimmers.
